Strawberry cake with cream

Ingredients:

For the cake:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 2 teaspoons baking powder

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

• 3 large eggs

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1/2 cup whole milk

• 1 cup mashed strawberries (fresh or frozen)

For the cream filling:

• 1 cup heavy cream

• 1/4 cup powdered sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• For the Strawberry Topping:

• 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

6. Gently fold in the mashed strawberries.

7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. For the cream filling, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

11. Once the cakes are completely cool, spread a layer of the cream filling on top of one of the cake layers.

12. Place the second cake layer on top of the cream filling.

13. Spread a thin layer of the cream filling on the top of the second cake layer.

14. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cream filling.

15. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1-2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the cream to set.

16. Slice and serve the strawberry cake with cream, and enjoy!

17. This Strawberry Cake with Cream is a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of fresh strawberries and fluffy cream for a perfect treat.
